Easy and Sweet Flower Decorations for Cupcakes and Cakes!

Making candy flowers for for The Week Junior (in the current issue, out now!) took me back many years to a very fun time working on my first book, Candy Aisle Crafts, with Amy Gropp Forbes ...playing for days with marshmallows and finding infinite uses for them (birds, ghosts, polar bears, snowmen, etc!). Snip them from different angles, and you can create many shapes and, in this case, many petals.⁠

I love this hack for anyone who wants to do put flowers on a cake or cupcake but doesn't feel comfortable with a piping bag. 

And by the way, many big supermarkets sell pastel marshmallows and sour belts or sour straws that make great leaves and stems! 🍃 And of course, the spice drops that I used for the flower center (they are gumdrops' smaller cousins).⁠
