Easy, Kid-Made Thanksgiving Decorations!

These utensil bags, perfect for a buffet, are made with brown lunch bags and decorated with leaf rubbings. Get your kids to help make them! (Or at least keep them busy collecting leaves!) I made these for the current (November) issue of Parents magazine. You can find the full instructions on their website here!⠀

After gathering leaves in a variety of shapes, place a thin piece of colored paper over one leaf and rub over it with the side of a crayon while holding the paper and leaf firmly in place with your other hand. (Thin paper, like origami paper, works best!) I like this origami paper because it is colored on both sides!

You can use regular brown lunchbags from the grocery store or these cute utensil bags!

You can also use these to scatter on the table, to make place cards, or just for a fun project!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
