Potato-Print Yourself a Cute Back-to-School T Shirt!

Tie-dye is not the only way to decorate a shirt. Printing with potatoes (or other veggies and fruits such as carrots, or apples for that matter) is an easy and fun way to create letters, polka dots, and whatever patterns and designs your kids dream up! Also, a little less messy! And you may have everything you need right now! And, wouldn’t it be fun to have a new t-shirt to show off at school? (No need to buy a new one, it’s the perfect way to cover up stains on an old shirt!)

I made these shirts for the current issue of The Week Junior. Click here to download the instructions. They were so much fun to make, easy too! I loved creating the shadow effect on the ‘A’ shirt by stamping a second, darker color slightly off-center.
I hope you’ll give it a try!
