Last-Minute Gifts for Crafty and Creative Kids (and Grownups too!)

I’m very excited to share this fun gift guide put together by my friend, Tempestt Jiwa, including some brands that we both adore (and a few extras I stuck on at the bottom of the post, below her cute graphics)! We both love putting items together to create a custom gift basket-ish “kit”, especially if it’s tailored to a child’s interest!

For a sticker-loving kid who would love to journal:

And a kid who loves to cook:

For a kid who loves to read (and make) comics:

For artists and aspiring artists, Ed Emberley books make drawing and picture-making easy, fun, and approachable! These items are all from the CUTEST store which we are dying to visit, Fair Play Projects. ps- They have a bunch of their own gift guides!

I was so happy to learn recently about the book Can I Recycle This?: A Kid's Guide to Better Recycling and How to Reduce Single-Use Plastics by sustainability expert Jennie Romer, a kid-friendly, non-preachy guide to recycling. As Publishers Weekly said, it is “an engaging springboard for environmental stewardship." This is right up my alley and I will be getting Jennie’s book for grownups too! Both books feature the cutest illustrations by Christie Young.

Aaaaannd for grownups…….

A years subscription to my friend Jenny’s newsletter, Dinner a Love Story. (I would want this if I didn’t already subscribe!) And/or her book The Weekday Vegetarians

For knitters or aspiring knitters, ANYTHING from Purl Soho!

And anything from the gorgeously curated shop, Wms&Co, like these Archiblocks Bauhaus please!!

And, hey, I may as well plug one of my books! My e-book Toilet Tube Treasury is is fun for parents and/or kids and something you could gift along with some toilet tubes and art supplies like a set of craft paints, and some glue (or, for older kids, a low-temp hot glue gun). An e-book can be a tricky item to gift so I made a little certificate (below) that you could print out as a gift tag to go with your kit, below.

Drag this gift certificate off onto your desktop and print it out.

Lastly, a festive apron (or a plain one!) from my big brother’s apron brand! Wrap it up with a cute spatula and/or a cookbook, like Sarah Kieffer’s Baking for the Holiday!
Happy Holidays everyone!
