Interview and Studio Visit on The House That Lars Built!

I have been a fan of Brittany Jepsen and her website/brand, The House That Lars Built, for....EVER so I am so thrilled to be included in her wonderful  *Becoming* interview series which she started back in 2019 to hear from women in different walks of life and how they approach creativity, career goals, and more.
Here I am in my messy studio keeping it real (I’m lying...I cleaned up for this photo...and it still looks messy!) plus a few outtakes, below.

As I said in my interview, I admire everything about Brittany! Her originality, creativity, and gorgeous pattern- and color-loving aesthetic, of course, but also that she takes time to celebrate and amplify other creatives (like with this interview series) as well as being charitable and using her platform to bring important causes to our attention. Also, I am obsessed with her two little sons, the cutest, omg!!!

Here’s another shot of that corner of my studio. Do you see my beloved clown scissors! :)

I have bins and bins of all the recycled materials I use such as bottle caps, corks, tins, small boxes, printed papers, as well as bins of art and craft materials like scissors, glue, tapes, beads, paint, and more.

More stuff! I try to organize items by type and'/or color like colored plastics or jar caps.

In the interview, I described the collaboration process for our new book, Mousetown!

I’m sure you already follow Brittany on Instagram or her website, but if you don’t, check her out and I hope you’ll take a peek at her whole interview series!
